Kentucky Route Zero is an Indie Point-and-Click and Episodic Adventure video game by Cardboard Computer. The game is divided into five episodes and centers at the character of a truck driver named as Conway. It offers a Point-and-Click play and a text-based layout instead of the traditional vocal and audio mechanism. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is another great addition to the Adventure genre. This particular title won the Bafta Games Award for innovation and a powerful backstory. It combines Adventure elements with Horror play nicely and lets the players have a totally different yet exciting feel. Set in an Open World environment, the game mainly focuses on the exploration and item collection elements. The story of the game revolves around the characters of Paul Prosper, a Paranormal investigator and a young boy named as Ethan Carter. Ethan invites Prospero to his hometown via a Fan Letter and upon his arrival, Prospero finds out about all the paranormal activities and the curse on Ethan’s family. The story develops as it unfolds and Prospero finds himself in search of Ethan and his brother Travis in the aftermath of very unusual and horror events.
Throughout the story, players will have to cater with all the supernatural drama and act as Prospero to solve some challenging mysteries. The free roaming element allows the players to interact with environment and items and that helps solve the mysteries. The paranormal abilities of players, their wit, and sense of learning are what matters a lot in the game. With a variety of different scenarios, realistic environments, stunning visuals and a fantastic story, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is the most inspiring title among games like Life is Strange.
