Forza Horizon 3 Gameplay Impressions – UTES

“As Australian as they come”. If you’re not familiar with the concept of UTE, it’s short for utility vehicle. Furthermore, it is almost a uniquely Australian invention. It’s what happens when you cut and shut the front end of a muscle car with the rear cargo bed of a pick-up truck. You have the option to select the ludicrously powerful Holden HSV Malou as your very first car in the game.

Keira

Returning fans from Forza Horizon 2 will be pleased to see that smug Ben is no where to be found in this year’s festival. You’re new guide tour for this year is the lovely Irish lady Keira. You’re the new boss of the Horizon festival and you decide who races what and where. She’s your personal assistant to ensure everything runs smoothly. Keira has a lovely voice and makes the occasional joke to tease when you’re going too slow.

Silly names

Forza Horizon 3 let’s you choose your character, either male or female. You can then pick the nick name by which they will be referred. You can choose a female and then have the option to choose from a vast selection of nick names. We first tried calling our lady driver Big Man but it got awkward pretty soon.

Body mods

Long awaited Forza series features make their debut in Forza Horizon 3 rather than the main Forza Motorsport releases. These include body modifications though they’re not available on every car. However, where they are available they give you the chance to add a personal touch and improve the performance of the vehicle.

Flying off things

As a peculiar portion of our Forza Horizon 3 gameplay impressions, we would like to mention that you can literally fly off things. What we mean by that is there are a lot of invisible wall throughout the game. So, you would be just cruising along a highway and might bump into something unseen and go flying off the road. So, keep your eye out for such stuff and try to not stray from the main path.

Jungles

In our Forza Horizon 3 Gameplay Impressions, we notice that this easily the most diverse game in the entire series. Australia has everything from sandy outbacks, city streets of Surf n Paradise and dense rain forest and jungles. If you decide to charge into the undergrowth you can do so easily and smoothly without any obstruction. Your car won’t come to an immediate halt when you clip a bush or slightly larger shrub. This makes driving off road a lot less like a Russia roulette.

One Drive

The music curation in the Forza Horizon series is second to none. However, it’s the driver who gets to choose the music. With that in mind, Forza Horizon 3 now allows you to listen to your own tunes by adding the MP3s to your One Drive.

Let us know what you think of our Forza Horizon 3 Gameplay Impressions.
