Popular online discount shops like GeekBuying and GearBest have already announced their prices for the upcoming OnePlus 5 Android phone. You can also pre-order the OnePlus 5 on GeekBuying and GearBest. The upcoming OnePlus 5 is now priced at $450 on pre-order. GearBest has listed the OnePlus 5 for $688 including shipping. The “flagship killer” OnePlus 5 Android phone sports a 23-megapixel dual sensor camera setup and a 16-megapixel front snapper. These, in addition to 8GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 835 represent a massive increase in performance from its predecessor. And now, recent benchmark leak hints at “flagship killer” OnePlus 5 being faster than Galaxy S8.
OnePlus 5 to be faster than Galaxy S8?
Even as leaks about OnePlus 5 continue to create buzz online, the latest benchmark leak has OnePlus fans excited. The first benchmark results have been spotted and they seem to indicate that the OnePlus 5 is going to be faster than Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S8.
According to leaked benchmark, Geekbench single-core score for OnePlus 5 stands at 1963 and the multi-core score stands at an impressive 6687. Samsung S8’s single-core performance score is 1978 while the multi-core score is 6375. OnePlus 5 with a score of 6687 for multi-core is clearly ahead of Samsung’s Galaxy S8 by quite a large margin.
Given that OnePlus 5 is powered by the same powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 that’s on the Galaxy S8, it looks quite strange that OnePlus 5 can outperform Samsung Galaxy S8 in the Geekbench score. However, the improved performance can be attributed to a number of factors, including larger capacity RAM and different version of Android Nougat 7.1. Also, Oxygen OS may have been further optimized by OnePlus.
