Taming Animals
One of the freaky new features in Far Cry Primal is the ability to tame animals. Here’s what you need to do become a Mesolithic Dr. Dolittle.
You’ll be able to tame animals after you complete the Vision of Beasts quest, in which you track down and tame a White Wolf. Here’s what you need to do to tame animals:
First, prepare Bait, which is created using Meat, which you can find off of dead creatures. A good way to make a lot of meat fast is to head to Takkar’s cave and kill the goats nearby. Stick an arrow into their faces, and you have meat ready for the skewer.
Next, find the place where the animal you want to tame likes to hang out. This should be marked on your map by an icon of that creature. Once you’re there, get to crouching and make sure you don’t scare the creature away. If you do, you might end up fighting them and having to kill them. Just think of it like catching Pokémon. In the stone age.
Select your Bait using the weapon wheel, and throw it. As the animal of choice goes to investigate and laps it up, you can sneak up behind it and press the button prompt to tame it.
Once you have your animal tamed, you can even use it as a mount!
