Thanks to famous developers Xerub and Luca Todesco, a stable iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak has been released. The release, called extra_recipe+yaluX, improves the jailbreak experience on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but it’s only for those who running iOS 10.1.1 on their devices.
Xerub created extra_recipe, but Todesco managed to combine the code from extra_recipe into Yalu and named it extra_recipe+yaluX. The Italian developer came up with a .ipa file, which allows anyone to use it on their iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, as long as they run it on iOS 10.1.1.
Extra_Recipe+YaluX Release Possible Glitches
Todesco believes YaluX jailbreak Beta 1 will fix all iPhone 7 issues, but he also says there could issues for some with kernel exploits. He says that they could fail when the jailbreaking process is invoked. But, for the vast majority, he expects the process to go on smoothly.
Though it looks like a tempting and stable package, Todesco advises users who have a jailbroken device not to run the YaluX Jailbreak. Why? Because it’s not actually a remount and doesn’t include Substrate out-of-the-box. It also misses Cydia and does not remount the filesystem as read-write, which could be a concerning glitch for power users. In our opinion, it’s indeed a stable release, but not a worthy successor to mach_portal+yalu.
Though first BETAs are always glitchy, it’s good to see movement from well-known jailbreakers on iOS 10.1.1. As for the stable over no Cydia issue, you could give this a try on your iPhone 7, but only if you know the tidbits of jailbreaking. In case you don’t, we’d suggest waiting for Beta 2 of extra_recipe+yaluX, which could ultimately sort things out.
Long story short, if you’re going ahead with the jailbreak process, seek expert help unless you’re the expert here. And, make sure you download the .ipa file and use Cydia Impactor to liberate your device.
Till then, we will keep a close eye on the next BETA release of extra_recipe+yaluX, and on iOS 10.3 Pangu jailbreak.
