Facebook has released a new ‘Events from Facebook’ app that allows users to discover nearby events in a streamlined channel. The new app has been released for iOS devices. An Android app is expected to be launched soon.
The new app essentially suggests events based on your current location. You can also search for events in any city if you’re planning ahead for a trip. The new app lets you keep track of all of your upcoming events in the calendar. The actions taken on ‘Events from Facebook’ app will also be visible and available on Facebook.
The new ‘Events from Facebook’ app curates all the events shared by your friends or anyone on Facebook. It allows you to quickly catch up on new events in your friend circle. The listed events include events your friends are interested in, recently-announced events by the Pages you like, and updates from events you’re already connected to.
Additionally, you will be get to browse through event recommendations based on time, location and their interests. You can also explore events happening where you are or in places you like to go using the interactive map. Your friends will also be able to see what you’re interested in and what events you’ve shared with them, even if they don’t have the app.
Also, you can keep track of all of your upcoming events in the calendar, which shows the days you’re already attending an event and when you’re free. You can also choose calendars you want to add from your phone and view them alongside your Facebook events.
