Bethesda will be hosting a conference at E3 this year, much like last year, and speculation is rife that the company might announce or reveal The Elder Scrolls VI at this event. Bethesda is yet to confirm the existence of such a game, but keeping in mind the studio’s history, as well as they blockbuster success of Skyrim, it seems inevitable that a sequel would be on its way.

Fallout 4 was announced with a countdown last year, and then unveiled in full at E3 2016. Last year also marked the first time Bethesda held a conference to show off their games – both the ones developed by Bethesda Game Studios, and ones they are publishing in the capacity of a publisher. While a considerable amount of DLC is yet to come out for Fallout 4, an announcement for The Elder Scrolls VI may not be too far off.

If we look at the history of The Elder Scrolls, a new game has come out every few years. The latest instalment, Skyrim, came out in 2011, 5 years after the release of the previous game in the series, Oblivion. Now that it will be 5 years after Skyrim this year, the question is raised again: where is the next Elder Scrolls entry? It’s possible that Bethesda might need even more time to cook the next entry in the series than even Skyrim, and that we might expect a game (and an announcement) only next year.

Either way, the time seems nigh for Bethesda to announce an Elder Scrolls game. What would you like to see in the next Elder Scrolls game? Let us know in the comments below.
