Chinese smartphone maker Huawei had launched its famous mid-range smartphone Huawei Honor 5X during the final quarter of last year. Honor 5X packs great features including a fingerprint sensor, a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 chipset, and 3GB of RAM all under an all-metal body. The device even carries a lucrative price tag making it a great mid-range smartphone.
There’s some amazing news for all the thousands of Honor 5X users as Huawei has started rolling out the latest stable Android Marshmallow update over the air (OTA) for the Honor 5X. The update is being made available through company’s official app HiCare. However, the update is currently being rolled out only in the Asian regions for the model number KIW-L22. Other regions are to follow shortly.
You should have already received the update notification for Android Marshmallow by now if you’re in the Asian region. However, don’t panic if you haven’t yet received the OTA update notification as it is being rolled out in phases and may take some time. You can even try checking for the update manually by navigating to the settings menu.
And for all those impatient ones who don’t believe in waiting, there’s always a 1.45GB zip file containing the OTA update. You can just flash this file to get the latest EMUI 4.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. You can download the update zip file from here. Updating may sometimes lead to wiping off the SD card so it is always advisable to make a backup of the important files. Just download the update and enjoy tons of new features like Google Now on Tap, Doze Mode for battery saving, customizable app permissions, and many more cool features of the latest Android Marshmallow on your Huawei Honor 5X.
Thanks for the tip.
