DJI, the Chinese technology company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong, manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles (a.k.a Drones) for aerial photography, videography, gimbals, flight platforms, cameras and more. If you recall, the very famous Phantom quadcopters are from the stable of DJI. These are built mainly for aerial cinematography and photography applications.

RC Drone Arena reports on the latest news from China’s DJI. Apparently, the images of DJI Mavic, the company’s first-ever foldable drone have leaked. The leaked images look very real and paint a solid picture of what can be expected from the upcoming DJI Mavic drone. The first thing that can be inferred from the leaked images is that the Mavic is larger than an average foldable drone (the ones like ZeroTech Dobby). The images also give the impression that DJI Mavic features a radical design, different from its predecessor in several aspects.

As you can see the label in the photo clearly reads “DJI Mavic”. The leaked images look to be very real and it’s confirmed beyond doubt that the DJI Mavic drone will, in fact, look like the one shown in the images. The foldable drone has undergone a radical transformation both in terms of design and functionality. The Mavic is expected to have a fair bunch of ducts for good aerodynamics. In short, the Mavic is poised at becoming a game-changer.

DJI Mavic launch is scheduled for September 27th. Any guesses on what radical component the Mavic will feature? Feel free to post in the comments section.

Thanks for the tip, Yash.
