Dishonored 2 is in many people’s hands, and it’s confirmed: the performance is poor on PC for both Nvidia and AMD, mostly across mid range cards. We wouldn’t be surprised if now that Sony and Microsoft are attacking the PC market they are stopping optimization of PC ports. It’s literally every game now and can’t be a coincidence, considering games used to be amazing ports for PC.
Dishonored 2 is under-optimized for PC
It comes down to this: PC gaming has been and always will be the superior way to game. People can deny it, but it always comes back to the same truths. However, PC gaming has its problems; and those problems are not often found in consoles. If you can’t live with those problems, maybe try and be contented with consoles, at least until the next generation. If you want to jump into any brand new AAA title without any tweaking, stick to a console you like. But if you don’t mind putting a bit of work in, save up and build yourself a gaming PC.
Ignore the problems from these few games and realize there is a greater world of gaming out there for PC that is just not possible with consoles. To many players, PC gaming isn’t about the big games that disappoint; it’s about the small surprises that last for years and years. We just think games are just being optimized to run at 30 fps because of consoles and it probably won’t change until consoles are able to hit 1080p 60 fps which just sucks. We just saw the performance jump from patch 1.01 to 1.04 in Mafia III and it was huge. We’re talking 60 FPS with an older version and 80 FPS with the new patch. So, can we expect something similar in Dishonored 2? Hopefully.
