Blizzard fans are enthusiastically waiting for the announcement regarding Diablo 4. Twitter user, Big Ryan, expressed his optimism for an important announcement on Blizzcon regarding Diablo 4. The official Diablo Twitter account replied “BlizzCon will be really cool this year” and followed it by a wink.
Blizzard put up a job posting regarding Diablo 4
There are rumors that Diablo game director Josh Mosqueira left the company. Blizzard is now advertising for a new position and it has something to do with Diablo.
“Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a game director with outstanding communications skills, proven experience in creative direction. He must have a strong ability in system design, and a stellar track record of shipping AAA games to lead the Diablo series into the future.”
This could be huge news but it could be that Blizzard is simply announcing a new DLC. A quality sequel usually takes years to develop. Regardless, it is still an interesting development and one that would bring a lot of players back to the game.
In 2012, Blizzard released Diablo 3 for the PC. The game had a rocky start due to severe technical and server issues but those were rectified afterwards. The game is a sequel to the popular isometric hack-n-slash dungeon crawler released by Blizzard in 2000, Diablo 2. Diablo 3 was notorious for implementing poor DRM services. French consumers group UFC Que Choisir received nearly 1,500 complaints after the release of the game. They were forced to confront the company and ask them to rectify the issue immediately. South Korean government raided Blizzard offices soon after the game release because the company was violating consumer right laws. This forced them to shut down Diablo 3 in South Korea amidst all the fan outrage.
