The latest update of destiny’s matchmaking system is bringing new settings, but they are live only in Control, the zone capturing mode.

Destiny

In an update published on the Destiny forums, Bungie community manager David “DeeJ” Dague informed players about the update. He said that the emphasis will be on finding matches with better connection quality, and that skill ratings will not be important as the connection in matching players. In other words, you’ll have bigger chances to play with less skilled players, so winning or losing may end up easier or harder than before. It all depends on who you match with. You can leave your feedback regarding the update on Bungie’s forums.

Dauge said that “There is still some form of protection to insulate the casual players among us from the most hardcore, but those considerations will have much less impact on the technical quality of the matchup.”

Bungie will also extend its Damage Referee, a neat system that helps Crucible players have better connections; it will be present not just in Control, but also in Clash, Rumble and Freelance 3v3.
