Supercell is prepping an update to be released on the 3rd of May, and this one is going to introduce a number of balance changes to the game. Defensive gameplay has been made the focus of the upcoming update, and changes have been made to cards like the Mortar, Bomb Tower, Elixir Collector, Cannon and more.
For the Mortar, deployment time has been increased to 5 seconds, up from 3 seconds. Damage has also been nerfed, i.e. decreased by 10%. Supercell describes the current state of the Mortar as being “too strong” and “offering too much value for 4 Elixir”. The Bomb Tower has had its lifetime decreased to 40 seconds, down from 60 seconds. The reason for this change is that the tower is currently “too dominant” and “difficult to deal with” in low-to-mid Arenas.
The Elixir Collector, which sees some heavy use at the top, has had its hitpoints decreased by 20%. The Cannon also sees a hitpoint nerf, down by 11%. The Royal Giant gets a boost, with a range increase by 1. The Mirror will now mirror common and rare cards 1 level higher. The Valkyrie will be affected by pushback now, such as when hit by fireballs, and so will the Mini P.E.K.K.A.
