While the cell phones have made this world a smaller place by helping us keep in touch with our distant friends and relatives, on the other hand, it has been slowly driving us away from our closed ones. We spend so much time on our cell phones that we’ve started ignoring our close friends and family members. While you would’ve already seen many educational videos on this topic on YouTube, you won’t have heard of this something amazing what Chick-fil-A is doing right now.

Chick-fil-A is a famous restaurant chain in the U.S.A.  The restaurant is offering a free ice-cream cone to any family who finishes their meal without using any of their devices at all.

The Chick-fil-A is giving this offer in some 150 stores across the US. It provides the families with a ‘Cell Phone Coop’ in which they are asked to put all their devices so that they can have a peaceful meal with their family members and friends without any interruptions.

The brain behind this idea is that of Brad Williams who is a Chick-fil-A operator in Suwanee, Georgia. He says that people in America spend an average 4.7 hours every day on their smartphones and other devices.

He said in a statement, “We really want our restaurant to provide a sense of community for our customers, where family and friends can come together and share quality time with one another.”

He further added, “The challenge has completely taken off, We have families who aren’t successful the first time and come back to try again. We even have people asking to take the boxes home with them! Our whole community is talking about it.”

Chick-fil-A is not the first restaurant chain, however, to give such kind of incentives. We appreciate these incentives and hope that these attempts will bear some fruit and people will start spending a little more quality time with their closed ones rather than their gadgets.
