After the successful Kickstarter for Carmageddon Reincarnation and its launch out of Early Access last year (which no doubt killed an untold number of pedestrians along the way), Stainless Games is bringing Carmageddon: Max Damage to the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Carmageddon: Max Damage will feature over 30 cars, each one geared towards wrecking each other, as well as everything in their paths. There will be 90 power-ups involved, with the game’s official website promising you’ll find out if they improve your performance, “mangle your opponents” or “just screw things up”.
Confirmed game modes include a Career mode, a Multiplayer mode and a Freeplay mode, which presumably involves driving around freely, running over pedestrians of every shape and colour, including such exotic tastes as aliens, bears and penguins. Other new features include an Action Replay mode, complete with customisable cameras and an auto-repair system that repairs your car on the fly.
No release date has as yet been announced for the game, but it has been confirmed that Steam owners of Carmageddon Reincarnation will get the game for absolutely free. The game’s announcement also came with a trailer, as seen below.
