According to rumours, this year’s Call of Duty game will carry the subtitle “Bloodlines”, and will even be released for Nintendo’s upcoming console, the NX. The rumour comes from leaker Geno, who has previously been right about a number of leaks, particularly related to Nintendo.
A new Call of Duty for the Nintendo NX would seem plausible, considering games from the series typically release in the Holiday season, and the NX is expected to release in Holiday 2016 this year. In fact, the release dates line up so that it would seem likely that Call of Duty: Bloodlines would be a launch title for the NX.
While we have no information on what Bloodlines will include, we do know that it will be developed by Infinity Ward, who was responsible for not only creating the franchise, but reinvigorating it with the Modern Warfare games. This is pure speculation, but the title “Bloodlines” does hint towards a generational setting, perhaps involving multiple eras of warfare under one umbrella.
