US-based smartphone maker BLU is known for making great smartphones at super affordable prices. BLU has expanded its Dash series by bringing the two new members, BLU Dash M2, and Dash X2 into the family.
Both of these smartphones are available for purchase in the US through Amazon at extremely pocket-friendly rates. The Dash M2 costs merely $70 while the Dash X2 costs just $85. Despite being sub-100$ phones, these devices sport an all-metal body and come shipped with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS right out-of-the-box.
These features may look very tempting for a sub-100$ device, but sadly these are the only highlights of these devices. The rest of the specs can be described as modest at best. Both of the devices are powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580.
Both the smartphones sport a 5-inch display, however, the BLU Dash X2 features a 720p display, while the display resolution of the BLU Dash M2 is 480 x 854 pixels. The Dash X2 offers 1GB of RAM coupled with 8GB of internal storage while the Dash M2 offers only 512MB of RAM along with 4GB of inbuilt storage. Thankfully, both of these phones have expandable storage up to 64GB.
At the camera front, the Dash X2 sports an 8 MP rear shooter, while the Dash M2 sports a 5 MP rear camera. Both the devices have a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Sadly, there is no LTE connectivity, but the phones do offer dual-SIM functionality. The Dash X2 packs a 2,200 mAh battery while the Dash M2 is equipped with a slightly smaller 2,000 mAh battery.
These devices have some selling points, however, except for these one or two features, rest is too bland. It will be interesting to watch how these devices fare in the US smartphone market. So stay tuned.
