According to the Zauba listing, which is an import and export tracking website for India, the BlackBerry Priv may carry the price tag of Rs. 50,635 (approx. $780). As you can check in the screenshot below, a total of 4 units of BlackBerry Priv were imported in India on October 14th, mentioning the price of Rs. 50,635 per unit.
We already know the price for UK and China. The UK-based retailer Carphone Warehouse started the pre-orders last week. According to the retailer’s listing, the phone will set you back $895 off-contract in the UK. Few days ago, Chinese tipster Leaksfly posted that the Priv could be priced at RMB 3,999 (approx. $630) in China.
According to GSMArena, BlackBerry CEO John Chen has previously stated that BlackBerry’s first Android-based smartphone will be carrying a high-end price tag. During the Code/Mobile conference, he said – “We’ll make the phone financially affordable to get, whether that’s by installments or something else.”
For those who are not aware, the Priv comes with a 5.4-inch curved screen with BlackBerry’s QWERTY slider keyboard. Powered by a Snapdragon 808 chipset, it features an Adreno 418GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage, and a 3410Ah battery. Photography enthusiasts get a 18MP primary camera along with a 5-megapixel selfie snapper.
