As most of the world already seems to know, the Blackberry Priv has been confirmed for pre-ordering through the Carphone Warehouse.
Though Blackberry has not yet given official confirmation, the ball does seem to be rolling now on one of the least surprising phone releases in recent news.
With leaks happening from many sources, including John Chen, the CEO of Blackberry, you have to wonder if they had planned to make the details so public from the start!
For those who have not seen the details already, the Blackberry Priv looks to be a promising new addition and will be sitting near the top end of current phones both in price and in specifications.
The phone will initially be available for £579 with no SIM, or offered for £49 on a monthly term.
The device is confirmed to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 CPU and 3GB of RAM. The storage is expandable, coming with a built-in 32GB storage capacity and able to hold a microSD card of up to 2TB. Pretty impressive!
As for the screen, it will have a 5.4-inch AMOLED display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and a pixel density of 540ppi.
The Blackberry Priv will also be taking a step up in the camera department boasting an 18-megapixel camera on the back. However, the front camera, sitting at 2-megapixels may not be the most exciting news for the selfie enthusiasts out there.
The device will slide open for a full keyboard which is good news for those who follow blackberry specifically for their physical keyboards in a world that has gone crazy over touch screens.
Overall, it looks like blackberry is taking a strong step forward with this new phone. Be sure to check back frequently for more news and updates!
