BlackBerry Keyone first spotted at MWC 2017 event in Barcelona earlier this year, has finally gone on sale. The QWERTY keyboard featuring smartphone is now available in the UK from retailer Selfridges (Oxford Street, London) with a price tag of £499 (around $645). All this information came courtesy of a press league from BlackBerry.
The press release further added that Carphone Warehouse will be the next retailer to carry the handset in the UK, with sales beginning on May 5. Clove and Vodafone too will carry the smartphone in near future.
As far as the US availability is concerned, the BlackBerry Keyone one will go on sale starting May 31. And the home country, Canada, will see the pre-orders commencing on May 18.
BlackBerry Keyone Specifications
The BlackBerry Keyone main highlight lies in the BlackBerry signature QWERTY keyboard beneath the 4.5-Inch display of 1080 X 1620 resolution with 4:3 aspect ratio. It is powered by the power-efficient 14 nm Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset and 3 Gigs of RAM. Internal storage stands at 32 GB with expandable capabilities of up to 256 Gigabyte. The handset boots Android 7.1 Nougat out the box.
As for the camera, BlackBerry has included 12 MP shooters on the rear, and 8 MP lens on the front. The rear one features f/2.0 aperture whereas the front one comes with f/2.2. Coming to connectivity, BlackBerry has got it all covered with 4G, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and Type-C. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the front. All this is powered by a 3505 mAh battery.
