Hello folks, today we have decided to help all you bored gamers to pick from some of the best gaming tablets and smartphones out there to play around with. Now, remember that this is not necessarily a list of devices with the strongest setup, but more of a MobiPicker personal choice for what we think works best for gaming purposes.

We all know that one of the major positive sides of gaming on mobile devices is, of course, the lack of ‘mobility’ limitations, except of course having to charge the device which sucks. Picking a powerful tablet or smartphone can enhance our mobile gaming experience greatly.

We are not surprised by the current gaming trends at all, people are generally lazy, and who would blame them for preferring something more comfortable than having to sit in front of a monitor messing around with the mouse, when we can easily play in far more relaxing locations, through our phones and tablets.

Let’s now begin to look at some of the best gaming smartphones and tablets that are perfect for gaming.

1. NVIDIA SHIELD LTE Tablet

Even though the NVIDIA Shield LTE is not the top 1 in terms of equipment and specs, it is still one of the most stable gaming tablets in the world, running most of the available games on highest settings with decent FPS. The SHIELD LTE comes with 2GB RAM, which could be a bit more, but seems to be enough, a 32GB internal storage and a 5-megapixel main camera. What makes the Shield LTE so special is the chipset. The SoC that powers the SHIELD is their self-made NVIDIA Tegra K1 that was simply built for gaming. The SHIELD LTE can be bought for the price of $399, and the weaker version for $299.  We definitely recommend the NVIDIA SHIELD tablet for gaming enthusiasts.

2. Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet

Sony’s powerful tablet that is slightly bigger in size than the NVIDIA shield and a bit better in performance is our next choice of gaming tablets. The Z2 is not a brand new tablet, but it has certain features that make it a decent choice for gaming. One of these features is the fact that the Z2 is fully water-resistant. This greatly extends the possibilities for gaming locations, like In a long relaxing bath. The Sony Z2 is receiving Lollipop update which is better than nothing, and it is equipped with a decent 3D sound system. We would not recommend its successor the Z4 Tablet for gaming, due to an extremely weak battery.

3. Samsung Galaxy S6

Next up we have a very popular and powerful smartphone that is not a cheap to say the least, but definitely epic for gaming. A beautiful 5.1-inch AMOLED display brings us one of the best imagery in the business along with its own 64-bit Exynos SoC that is one of the best around. The aforementioned display is capable of 2560 x 1440 resolution that is simply a paradise for gamers. If you want to buy one of the best smartphones for gaming, S6 is the way to go, but be prepared it will be a costly toy.

4. LG G4

The G4 achieves similar results in gaming aspects to the S6. The screen is slightly bigger being a 5.5-inch display with a same resolution as the Samsung competitor. A 16-megapixel camera, 3GB RAM, and a 3000 mAh battery seem good enough for long-term gaming. The only downside of the G4 is the slightly slow Snapdragon 808 hexacore chipset, but we can live with that. The G4 is slightly expensive, but surely a rational choice for gamers.

5. Dell Venue 8 7000

Dell’s Venue 8 7000 is just purely awesome for gaming. The tablet’s reasonably large screen, 8.4-inch with 1600 x 2560 resolution, is great for games. The Venue 8 7000 comes with an Intel Atom Z3580 chip having a 2.3GHz quad-core CPU. Performance-wise it is a bit weaker than the NVIDIA SHIELD, but bigger, better-looking and similar in price.

Upcoming Device

Acer Predator 6

Sadly, this is something we cannot buy yet, but will be the most powerful gaming smartphone for sure. The gaming titan will have 4GB of RAM, 6-inch HD display, and OMG… a deca-core MediaTek SoC! Other than these fantastic features the Predator 6 will come with four speakers and the design… just perfect! If the Predator 6 was out, we are pretty sure we would instantly lose 99.5% of our readers who’ve read this and rushed to get one and got lost in the ether for a good old 48-hour gaming session.

Overall, the list we’ve put together has some fantastic devices, but if he had to choose just one that would be the best smartphone / tablet for gaming purposes, it would be the Predator 6. This beast is built for gaming, and nothing else but that. Looks are stunning and the specs are not of this world. We can promise you one thing, if this phone releases, we will be right on the spot to get one.
