6. Call of Duty
The part of the game we remembered as the best was the Soviet campaign. It’s definitely the most interesting. The American and British campaigns aren’t bad, they’re just not very memorable. The only bits we remembered before replaying it was the American mission where you run around trenches blowing up artillery and the British mission where you’re chased around in a truck and ultimately have to shoot down Stukas at an airfield. Really, it feels a lot like an evolution of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. It’s more even in its difficulty and the levels seem more balanced. It also has iron sights, which we guess is a big deal for people that are only used to modern shooters. No regenerating health though and you have to manage your health (and your health pick-ups).
5. World at War
World at War brings proven Call of Duty mechanics back to WWII with great success. This game is actually amazing. It’s the most underrated call of duty ever. The game has one of the best campaigns in the franchise and is quite long and emotional. Great graphics which, even today, look amazing. The soundtrack is also amazing, Vietnam setting looks awesome too. The multiplayer is so fun and one of the killing streaks is sending dogs after someone.
