If you’ve been waiting for Battleborn’s Open Beta, then you won’t have to wait much longer, as it begins on April 8th for PS4 and April 13th for Xbox One and PC. You can now also pre-load the open beta, so that you’ll be able to play as soon as the game is ready.
The open beta can be found here for the PS4, here for Xbox One and here for PC. The beta appears to have different sizes for different platforms, weighing in at 7.6 GB for the PS4, 10.6 GB for the Xbox One and 12 GB for the PC. Shouldn’t be much of a problem, unless you’ve got an internet data cap or something.
PS4 players have it really good with Battleborn. Apart from getting access to the beta days earlier than other players, PS4 players who play the beta will also receive the first Battleborn expansion and on launch, will get instant access to the character Alani. PS4 players also exclusively get to try out the character Toby in the beta. That’s very generous.
The full game will release on May 3rd, 2016. That’s less than a month away, so it is kind of suspicious the hype machine is a little quiet. Maybe we’ll see a ramp-up starting with this open beta (to be fair, I thought there was too little hype for The Division as well, and that turned out to be the biggest new IP launch).
