Since the conclusion of Attack on Titan season 1 in September 2013, season 2 has been something fans have been waiting for. Recently spoilers which surfaced regarding the next season suggest that the wait will be worth it.
Chief Director Araki Tetsuro and Director Koizuka Masashi recently had an interview in a recent issue of the Japanese Newtype Magazine, where they talked about what fans can expect to see in the next season of Attack on Titan. The directors did state that the next season will reveal some new members of Survey Corps, but they didn’t reveal who among the Survey Corps members will be revealed to be a part of it. If the next season will follow the manga, then the directors were most probably talking about Renier Braun and Bertolt Hoover.
A few days ago, Masashi confirmed that Attack on Titan season 2 will explore the lives of those characters who had a minor role to play in the past. Those who also read the manga of Attack on Titan will have a lot of names in mind, but Renier and Bertolt are going to be the most obvious ones. The Armored Titan, Renier had an encounter with his ex Survey Corps teammate, Eren Yeager in chapter 43 of the manga. Along with Bertolt, he turned out to be a traitor.
Bertolt is also a titan shifter known as Colossal Titan. Both Renier and Bertolt were focused on the Clash of the Titans arc in the manga, and it is now expected to be featured in the second season of Attack on Titan anime. However, it is yet to be officially confirmed whether they will feature the Clash of the Titans arc or not, but as the creators promised not to drift away from the original plot, so they will most probably include it.
Attack on Titan season 2 arrives on April 1, 2017. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
