It is almost one year since Asus announced the Zenfone Zoom at last year’s CES. Starting from CES 2015 to CES 2016, the phone could not make its way to any international markets, and is available only in the company’s home country of Taiwan. But according to a recent press note from the company, it seems that the phone is all ready to launch in India.
“After setting new benchmarks in digital imaging with its feature-laden ZenFone range, ASUS is gearing up to reinvent smartphone photography. Scheduled to hit the Indian market later this month, the new addition to ASUS’ expanding smartphone range, the imaging-masterpiece will truly enable the users to ‘See The World Up Close’!”
The Asus Zenfone Zoom is said to be the “thinnest smartphone with 3x optical zoom camera”. Specs-wise, it sports a 5.5-inch FullHD display and is powered by the Intel Atom Z3580 chipset with a quad-core 2.3GHz processor. It comes in different storage options such as 16/32/64/128GB internal storage and 2/4GB of RAM.
The Zenfone Zoom features a 13 MP rear camera with laser autofocus, 3x optical zoom, OIS, and dual-LED (dual tone) flash. A 5MP camera takes selfies. It is juiced by a non-removable 3,000mAh battery.
The pricing details will be announced during the launch event, which may happen anytime before the end of this month. Any buyers?
