The Asus ZenFone 2 was launched in January last year and was released in March, and the phone became one of the most successful devices in the budget smartphone segment. Of course, a sequel was inevitable, but no new leak or information about the possible Asus ZenFone 3 was released. However, we now have a new Digitimes report that tells us some important features of the phone.
The Asus ZenFone 3 is rumored to get a metal body and will be featuring a 2.5D glass display. In case you don’t know, 2.5D glass is used on high-end phones like the Galaxy S7. The 2.5D glass panel is laid over the display and gets rounded edges. The same report also says that the ZenFone 3 will sport a Type-C USB port, a fingerprint scanner, and laser autofocus.
As far as these rumors go, we think that these features are becoming common across budget smartphones now, so it’s highly likely that the next ZenFone will get these features. It is being said that the Asus ZenFone 3 will be launched between 31st May and 4th June at Computex Taipei 2016, the same event where the company is expected to launch its new Asus ZenBook Flip convertible.
