ASUS, the Taiwanese manufacturer, is all set to change its perception in the US with its ZenFone series of smartphones. It is important to note that only some of the devices from ZenFone series till now have been available in North America. During CES2015, ZenFone 2, which was announced in January 2015, is one of the early devices from ZenFone in an unlocked avatar on a GSM carrier.
But now ASUS is ready to launch a new device. Touted as the Asus ZenFone 2 Laser with a model number ZE551KL, the phone costs $199 for the 16GB variant and $249 for the 32GB version. This device is somewhat different from what was introduced in India with same name but different model number. The ZenFone 2 Laser is equipped with a 13MP rear Camera with PixelMaster 2.0, accompanied by a dual-LED flash and laser autofocus. The device gets Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 octa-core CPU with 3GB of RAM.
With a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, the phone has got a 3,000mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The Asus ZenFone 2 Laser in the US is available in two SKU’s which are having different sizes , which creates little confusion about which model belongs to which SKU and ZenFone 2E. However, with the ZenFone 2, things in the mobile device space in the US is all set to be changed.
