Well ahead of the scheduled January 2017 launch, the entire lineup of ASUS’s Z270 has been leaked. The lineup includes 8 motherboards featuring the Z270 and are meant mainly for gaming enthusiasts and overclockers. Series includes ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z270 featuring ROG Maximus IX Formula, ROG Maximus IX Code and ROG Maximus IX Hero. STRIX Gaming Z270 series includes STRIX Z270E Gaming, Z270F Gaming, Z270G Gaming. And then there is also ASUS TUF Z270 MARK 1 and ASUS PRIME Z270-A motherboards.
MAXIMUS Z270 Series
Part of Republic of Gamers legacy, these motherboards are designed for gaming enthusiasts. Maximus IX Formula, Maximus IX Code and Maximus IX Hero are part of the ROG XI generation. The ROG Maximus IX Formula is a high-end product and features Z270 chipset and LG 1151 socket. This socket supports 6th and 7th gen Intel processors. 4 DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB memory are part of the motherboard. With six SATA III 6 GB/s ports, there’s also a USB 3.1 header along with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. The motherboard features next-gen Crosschill EK II Water cooling system. It makes use of a new thin find design to increase water flow rate and offer improved cooling, an improvement of 4 degree Celsius.
Maximus IX Code also features Z270 chipset and LGA 1151 socket. And just like Formula, this board also supports 6th and 7th gen Intel processors. The motherboard comes with 4 DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB memory. This is basically the budget-friendly version of the Maximum IX Formula. There’s a USB 3.1 header with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. There are a total of six SATA III 6 GB/s ports. Maximum IX Hero also sports LGA 1151 and supports 6th and 7th gen Intel processors. With 4 DDR4 DIMM slots that can support up to 64GB of memory, the board comes with six SATA III 6GB/s ports with a single USB 3.1 header.
ASUS STRIX Gaming Z270
In this series, there are three products – Z270E, Z270F, and Z270G. The Z270E features LGA 1151 socket and supports 6th and 7th gen Intel Core processors. This board also features 4 DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB of memory. There are 6 SATA III 6GB/s ports, with a single USB 3.1 header. The Z270F also features LGA 1151 socket supporting the 6th and 7th gen Intel processors. There are 4 DDR4 DIMM slots and six SATA III 6GB/s ports, with a single USB 2.0 front header. Z270G is pretty much similar, featuring LGA 1151 socket and supporting the latest 6th and 7th generation Intel processors. The motherboard supports 4 DDR4 DIMM slots, with 64GB memory support and comes with six SATA III 6GB/s ports, with a single USB 3.1 and USB 2.0 front header.
ASUS TUF Z270 MARK 1
The TUF series is mainly designed for military standards to ensure longer stability and extreme durability. These motherboards also come with LGA 1151 socket and support the 6th and 7th gen Intel processors. Featuring 4 DDR4 DIMM slots with support for 64 GB memory, the board includes six SATA III 6GB/s ports, with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 headers.
PRIME Z270-A
This board also features LGA 1151 socket and has the same set of features which the all the other Z270 series have. This is more of a standard board series lineup but packs in a decent amount of features.
