Asus X00GD

The X00GD model from Asus runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, making it the first such smartphone from the Taiwanese manufacturer. Another interesting piece of information involves a 4850 mAh battery, so you can be rest assured of great endurance rating.

Asus X00GD model sports a 5.2-Inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. It is powered by an unknown 1.5 GHz octa-core processor. It comes in three different variants – with 2 GB, 3 GB, or 4 GB of RAM, and 16 GB, 32 GB, or 64 GB of storage space. As for the camera is concerned, there is a 13 MP rear unit, along with an 8 MP front shooter.

The handset measures 149.5 × 73.7 × 8.85mm and weighs around 169 grams. There is also a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button. Color options for the phone include luxury gold, rose gold, and black. Right now, there is no info on the price and availability of the device.

Even though we don’t have any evidence to support our claim, we believe this might be a member of Asus upcoming ZenFone 4 family. Anyways, with CES 2017 just around the corner and Asus all geared up to launch new devices, we shall have more information with the mysterious Asus X00GD. Also, there have been rumors for a Zenfone Zoom (camera-centric) camera launch, so we have a decent lineup from Asus at CES this year.

Asus changed the strategy in 2016 with the new lineup. The company went all premium in “designing” as well as “pricing” its smartphones, and it didn’t go too well with the customers. Hence, it will be interesting to see whether Asus fallback to the previous strategy or stay firm on the new one to win consumer’s trust.
