For many, there’s been a distant hope surrounding the Assassin’s Creed movie. With Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, and Jeremy Irons on board, how could it not be good. Well, here we give you our final thoughts on the Assassin’s Creed movie.
Assassin’s Creed The Movie is good and bad
Metacritic: 39. Based on 19 people. Rotten Tomato gave “It Follows” a 97% (really, like really that film was about an invisible ghost that kills you if it has sex with you). Reviews don’t mean much. They provide a bit of an insight of a movie or whatever. But at the end of the day if you like it then it’s a good movie to you. If a few others have a different opinion then it doesn’t make it a bad film. Honestly, you’d have to play the games to understand the continuity and references.
However, some people have precious little time to spare on things like movies. Reviews can be the only thing for people to decide what three (or even less) movies they’ll see that year. It makes perfect sense why people rely on them like they do. Add in things like how expensive they are at the theater and it’s not hard to empathize.
Video Game movie reviews are like Star Wars/Disney/Marvel movie reviews but in reverse. Instead of being praised to the sun for being the 2nd coming of the messiah, they are slammed into the dirt and kicked in the gut by reviewers until they hand over their lunch money. Even though for the most part films like Warcraft and Tomb Raider are not “The worst thing ever”.
So, what about this one? Visuals and style of the movie are spot on but that’s it. They threw the game’s original storyline out the window and remade it with some half thought out nonsense using the same set pieces. The movie could have done a whole lot better if it was just a live action remake of the original storyline.
