Even though MWC 2017 (Mobile World Congress) event is still a few days away, some smartphone manufacturers are jumping the gun to avoid getting lost in a myriad of product launches. ARCHOS is one such OEM and has announced two new smartphones, the 50 Graphite and the 55 Graphite. Both the smartphones feature an impressive specs sheet with budget pricing.
ARCHOS 55 Graphite
The 50 Graphite is both bigger and powerful of the two siblings. It features a 5.5-Inch Full HD IPS display with a 2.5D curved sheet on top. The smartphone is powered by 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor and 2 Gigs of RAM. Internal storage of 55 Graphite stands at 16 GB with expandable capabilities of up to 128 Gigs via micro-SD card.
Camera department of the handset comprises of 13MP+2MP dual-camera setup on the back with a 5 MP shooter on the front. All this is taken care by a 3000mAh battery. It is a dual-sim offering with Android 7.0 Nougat on board.
ARCHOS 50 Graphite
The other sibling is named 50 Graphite. It sports a 5.0 Inch HD 720p IPS display with 2.5D glass and 1 Gigabyte of RAM. Rest of the specifications are same as the 55 Graphite, but the company emphasized that specifications might vary by country.
One can definitely say that 2 GB and 1 GB RAM are very low by 2017 standard, but one has to judge the smartphone by performance. Both the smartphones will be showcased at MWC 2017 in Barcelona and will go on sale in June this year.
As far as the pricing is concerned, no clear information is available right now, but one can expect the 50 Graphite to start at around 130€ (around $138). Even though the offerings aren’t too enticing for power users, they shall do fine for average customers.
