Apple has been quite busy since the launch of new iPhone 7 models. The new stories range from Apple iPhone 8 leaks to ‘how to fix your broken iPhone 7’. Let’s take a look at all the recent Apple developments related to iPhone models.

iPhone 7 Plus

iPhone 8 Predictions

The iPhone 8 is expected to sport a number of technological advances. Rumors suggest that the Apple might be bringing an all-glass iPhone in 2017. As per KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo, the company is about to use curved glass on the front and back. Apple is also expected to add a curved OLED display under so-called 2.5D glass. The glass creates a smooth and unblemished exterior. It is going to use stainless steel to create a ‘premium’ chassis and remove dead bezel space from the front.

iPhone 7 Plus Camera Not The Best

Apple iPhone 7 camera is being touted as the ‘best smartphone camera in the market’. The new iPhone 7 comes with optical image stabilization [OIS], while the iPhone 7 Plus sports a dual camera set up. On DxOMark Mobile charts, the iPhone 7 is beside the HTC 10 with 88 points. It is still below the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Sony Xperia X Perf.

The DxO Labs notes that other smartphones use larger image sensors than the iPhone 7. This allows them to capture more light and details. Apple’s insistence for thinness does not allow the company to use a bigger sensor. While the dual camera set up of the iPhone 7 Plus solves this issue creatively, it is unlikely that this technology could be adopted into future 4.7-inch handsets.

Ben Sin from Forbes claims that while the iPhone 7 Plus improves over previous models, it is still behind cameras on several Android devices. When used in similar conditions, both LG V20 and Huawei P9 offer better results.

iPhone 7 Sales

Apple has not yet released the sales figures of the first weekend of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. However, multiple third-party data has reported that there is a rise in the iPhone 7 Plus sales compared to the iPhone 6S Plus. However, the iPhone 7 is seeing a drop compared to the iPhone 6. Overall, the iPhone 7 models are likely selling fewer smartphones in 2016.

As per KGI Securities, Apple will be shipping 70 to 75 million units of the new iPhone 7 models in 2016. This is slightly higher than previous estimates of 65 million handsets. The new rise might be caused by the whole Samsung Note 7 fiasco.
