The Apple iPhone 7 release date in September is drawing near. However, the rumor mill is still guessing on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus features. The upcoming iPhones are expected to arrive with several improvements like Apple A10 chipset, dual cameras and so on. However, iPhone 7 rumors have also suggested that it will be arriving with dual-SIM support.
In June, Mac Rumors shared leaked photos of the alleged internal parts of the iPhone 7. The images that were sourced from a smartphone repair shop from China called Rock Fix revealed that the upcoming iPhones will carry dual-SIM trays.
The dual-SIM feature would certainly allow iPhone 7 users to easily switch users. This would possibly allow a iPhone user in the U.S> to make use of AT&T SIM card for voice and SMS and a SIM card from T-Mobile for unlimited 4G data.
Apple’s competitors in China and India such as Samsung and Chinese brands are all selling dual-SIM smartphones. Hence, in order to achieve more buyers in such huge smartphone markets, the Cupertino company may launch iPhone 7 with dual-SIM support.
The upcoming iPhones are expected to arrive several new features. Some of them include removal of 3.5 mm audio jack and headphone connection through the Lightning port, TrueTone display, dual speakers, Apple A10 chipset, dual camera for iPhone 7 Plus, front-facing flash for selfie camera, iOS 10 and waterproof chassis.
Apple has never released an iPhone with a dual SIM. So, what do you think about the dual-SIM for iPhone 7? Do you want to see the feature in the upcoming iPhones? Do let us know your thoughts by adding your comments below.
Rumors have it that Apple may reserve the iPhone 7 moniker for iPhones that will arrive in 2017. Hence, speculation suggest that since the forthcoming iPhone won’t be much different than iPhone 6S in appearance, it will release as iPhone 6SE. The much hyped iPhone 7 Pro seems to have been canceled.
The iPhone 7 release date is slated to happen on Sep. 9 followed by preorders on Sept. 12. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available for purchase at the stores starting from Sept. 25.
