This week saw Android update news for several devices. Beginning with Samsung, the Galaxy S7 and Note 5 are likely to get the update by the end of this year. T-Mobile has already confirmed the update for Samsung devices. Also, Samsung Galaxy S4 users can get the latest features of Nougat via custom ROMs. XDA Developer Forum’s kyasu released an experimental Android-based CM 14.1 firmware for S4 LTE model.

Moto Maxx and Droid Turbo users can cheer up as well. XDA Developers released a new version of crDroid ROM based on Android Nougat. OnePlus One users need not be disappointed as the device has been spotted running Android 7.0 Nougat on a benchmark site. Earlier reports claimed that OnePlus One will not get the latest Android update. However, the latest spotting of the new OS on GFXBench hints at an eventual update, although there has been no official confirmation.

When Will Google Devices Get Android 7.1 Nougat Update

Nexus 6P, 5X, and Pixel C users can get a taste of the new Nougat 7.1 by enrolling in Android Beta program. Nexus 6, Nexus Player and Android One devices should get the update by the end of this year. However, the latest Android Nougat 7.1 has brought Google Pixel and Nexus users Bluetooth pairing issues. The fix is expected soon. Meanwhile, Sony also confirmed that the Android Nougat soak test will soon be started on its Xperia X performance devices. The company has sent out e-mails to the registered Xperia X Performance owners stating that the Nougat developer preview will roll out soon.
