As announced by Motorola, Android Nougat updates have continued to roll-out for a majority of devices. Recently Motorola Deutschland confirmed that several Motorola models will receive Android 7.0 Nougat update during December. And it now looks like the company is well on track for Android Nougat update roll-out.
After phased roll-out of Android Nougat to Moto G4 Plus and Moto Z, Motorola is planning to roll out the new OS to Moto M. Motorola started its roll-out schedule with Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Droid Force. It then began to roll-out updates for Moto G4 Plus. According to latest tweet, Android Nougat will soon come to Moto M. The company has however not disclosed the official date for the roll-out. Moto M currently runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and all Moto M users are eagerly waiting for the update.
Also, Moto G (4th gen), as well as Moto Play, should start receiving the update before Christmas. Moto Z Play will get Android Nougat during January 2017. After Moto Z Play, the update will come to Moto X series. This is in line with the earlier statement by Motorola in which the company stated that a total of 15 smartphone models will receive the latest Android version.
Other popular models like Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto X (3rd Gen), Moto G3, Moto E3 and Moto E3 Power are not likely to see the update any time soon. The company has not announced any specific schedule for these devices. It’s unclear at this point in time whether these devices will ever get the update.
