Samsung had started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow globally last week for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. But until now, only a handful of users have received the it while most are still waiting for the OTA update.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge users in the UK on the Vodafone network have started getting the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update finally. The users on other networks are expected to get the update soon. The update has the build number XXU3DPB8.

Android 6

Android Marshmallow brings a host of new features, refined designs, Google Now on Tap, Doze and improved security and permission options. This firmware build also includes Samsung’s new Internet browser. Android Marshmallow has already been released for the Samsung Galaxy Note5. There were many bugs in that update and we truly hope that these bugs won’t reappear since Samsung has done a thorough Beta test before releasing these updates.

The Android Marshmallow update is expected to arrive on the phones in a day or two. You’ll soon get a notification, however, if you don’t get the notification, then you can manually check for updates too. Just navigate into Settings > About device >Software updates or upgrade manually by downloading the firmware.

Did you receive the Android Marshmallow update on your S6 and S6 Edge? Do let us know and stay tuned for more news and updates.
