New reports have revealed that AMD is prepping to show off its much-anticipated Ryzen CPUs alongside their top-of-the-shelf AM4 X370 SKU motherboards for Zen in less than a couple of weeks from now. If you want to witness the X370 preview first hand, make sure to be there at AMD’s forthcoming event ‘New Horizon’, scheduled on Dec 13  in Austin, Texas.

AMD X370 motherboards

So far we have learnt about next week’s event, a number of board partners will be there as participants, flaunting their new Ryzen-capable X370 motherboards with the new AM4 socket. In an earlier teaser for the event, AMD said: :”Join AMD at New Horizon on 12/13 at 3pm CST for an exclusive advance preview of our new “Zen” CPU ahead of its 2017 Q1 release. New Horizon is AMD’s fan-focused event, designed to engage our most dedicated customers”.

“As well as a hands-on preview of the power of “Zen”, attendees will be able to talk to the AMD minds behind the chip itself and grab expert gaming advice from eSports & Evil Geniuses legend PPD. The event is hosted by industry veteran Geoff Keighley, who’ll introduce special guests throughout the day,” the Sunnyvale, California-based chip giant added

Worth noting, it’s been awhile since AMD fell well behind Intel in the fast expanding motherboard chipset game. However, the arrival of Zen and the new AM4 boards is expected to bring some much-needed change to the existing status quo.

The high-end X370 comes equipped with native M.2 support, DDR4 memory compatibility, PCIe 3.0, USB 3.1 (second generation), NVMe, and SATA Express — none of these specs previously present in AMD boards.

The new chipset also supports CPU and memory overclocking in addition to facilitating more than enough PCIe lanes for multi-GPU setups with AMD CrossFire and NVIDIA SLI rigs.
