Ever since Amazon took off its official Windows Phone app from the store, there have been rumors of a new Windows 10 app, and today, the online retailing giant has released its new app to customers on Windows 10.
Now, before you get too excited, let us tell it’s just a web wrapper app developed by using Windows 10’s Project Westminster. This essentially means you will have the same experience on the app as you have on the Amazon’s official websites. The app doesn’t take advantage of any of Windows 10 features like live tiles, push notifications, and stuff. All you can do is change the regional settings on the settings page.
Just like the website, you have the basic features like personalized recommendations, Amazon Prime, controlling your Amazon Account, etc.
It’s sad to see big companies like Amazon making no effort in getting their app on Windows platform. This app would have taken just an hour with the help of Microsoft’s tool and we believe Amazon could do better than this.
Anyways, this is what it is. You can download the app following the link below. Do keep in mind that the app is only available for Windows 10 PCs and not mobile.
Update: The App can now also be downloaded on Windows 10 Mobile
