Alcatel started off their campaign at the MWC 2016 with the announcement of the Idol 4 phones. Today they’ve expanded their range by introducing three new phones as part of their POP series. Alcatel POP smartphones are targeted at the youth and offers value as well as performance for the younger generation. The Alcatel POP 4, POP 4+ and POP 4S range from the lower budget category to the mid-range category. The unique feature of all the three phones is that they have a wide angle selfie camera with an LED flash.

Alcatel POP

Alcatel POP 4S is the best among the three phones. It packs in some quality hardware like the Helio P10 octa-core processor and a 5.5inch full HD display. There is 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage which can be expanded up to 64 GB. The rear camera is pretty good at 13 megapixels and comes with a whole lot of features like dual-LED flash, phase detection auto focus and electronic image stabilization. It has an adequate battery of 2,960mAh and even has a fingerprint scanner.

Alcatel POP 4+ has a 5.5inch display but with a lesser resolution of 1280×720 pixels. It comes with the same hardware as the POP 4 with a Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor but with 1.5GB RAM. The internal storage has been bumped up to 16 GB and is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD. The battery is quite low at 2,500mAh considering that it has a larger display.

Alcatel POP 4 has a 5-inch 720p display with the same processor as the POP 4+. There is only 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which is a disappointment. The 2,500mAh battery would suffice for a day quite easily.

All the three phones come preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Only the POP 4S supports Cat 6 LTE, whereas the other two support only Cat 4 LTE. POP 4S comes in Metal Gold and Dark Grey colors while the other two come in UV Slate and Hairline Brushed Metal. Another surprising this is that JBL headphones come bundled with the package. Prices and availability are a secret as of now.
