TCL, the Chinese OEM behind Alcatel branded phones had a good outing at MWC 2017 with the launch of Blackberry KeyOne and three other Alcatel devices. But, a flagship Alcatel device was nowhere to be seen. All this might change soon as Alcatel Idol 5S has made an appearance at a Benchmark website, GFXBench.
The best thing about this leak is the amount of information made available for the device. While there is no confirmation that the specs will remain the same, but they definitely give us an idea what to expect. So, without further ado, let’s get going.
Alcatel Idol 5S Specifications
According to the leaked benchmark sheet, the Idol 5S will sport a 5.2-Inch Full HD display with 1920 X 1080 pixels resolution. Underneath the hood, MediaTek MT6757CH chipset, also known as Helio P10, will be running the show with 3 Gigs of RAM. Internal storage of Alcatel Idol 5S will stand at 32 Gigs which is further expandable via micro-SD card. GFXBench also reported a 12MP shooter on the back of the Idol 5S and an 8MP selfie one. And as for the OS is concerned, the smartphone will boot Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
Other details like battery capacity and pricing still remain a mystery. However, going by the current specs list, one can’t see it as a huge improvement over the last year Idol 4S. Let’s hope the company brings some new design changes to compensate the smaller improvements in the internals.
