Dredging up a contentious issue from days gone, Square Trade chose to redo Bendgate evaluations including HTC One M9 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge.
The smartphones were tested two times, once till they’re clearly bent and again until they’re bent to breaking point.
Last year’s Apple iPhone 6 Plus undergone the test and bent at the pressure of 110 pounds. It took maximum 179 pounds to take the Apple gadget to its breaking point.
Samsung Galaxy S6 edge also faced the 110 pounds to bent similar to iPhone 6 Plus, however one of the curved sides of screen broken which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Interestingly, S6 edge was still able to power on so it was now pressed with 149 pounds where it broke.
Lastly, the HTC One M9 bent at 120 pounds which was its undoing also. The Power button was moved from top to right side compared to last year’s flagship phone, which caused the HTC One M9 bent. The One M9 couldn’t power on after that.
