Leaks and rumours about Apple iPhone are not at all a new thing; most of the details of iPhones are already known much before they are announced each year. Same is the case with the upcoming iPhone 8, which is supposed to be the tenth-anniversary phone from Apple and is expected to come with an all-new design.
A handful of leaks in the past have showcased the design of the phone that it will come with. While they couldn’t be trusted as it was way too early even for the company to finalise upon a design for their 2017 phone. But the new leak is about the cases and covers for the iPhone 8 that are already up for sale in the UK along with their prices, according to report by Forbes.
The case makers, like Olixar in this case, are provided with the design schematics by Apple of the upcoming iPhones, so that they can start manufacturing the cases and make them available in the market along with the newly launched iPhone. A total of nine cases have popped up and the information has been provided to Forbes by MobileFun, which the publication claims to be a reliable source for being accurate with its past leaks.
What these cases reveal is the information that we already know, but they add some credibility to the information. The iPhone 8 is seemingly sporting a vertically placed camera housing on the back, which is in line with the previous leaks. The front is all display with a cut-out at the top for the earpiece, front camera, and other sensors.
With the reduced bezels, the phone would carry a 5.8-inch screen, the largest ever on an iPhone, in a body that is close to the current 4.7-inch iPhone in size. More importantly, the home button is nowhere to be seen, neither on the front or the back. This is rather a good thing because Apple would have integrated the TouchID into the display.
The thing left to be seen is how Apple optimises the iOS 11 for the display cut out at the top. According to what is visible in these images, the either side of the cut-out will display some information like it does today, but there is still a lot that is yet to be known about the display alone.
