Dontnod Entertainment has had a very busy year and a half since the release of Life is Strange. The team has been releasing episode after episode for the said game. Now, it seems like the developer is back with much gusto as it announces the sequel to Life is Strange.
According to the developer’s official YouTube channel, the sequel to Life is Strange has been in the works for at least a year. The development stage started immediately after releasing the physical disks of the game.
Unfortunately, for those who are hoping for a detailed announcement during the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, better stop hoping now. The development team has already dismissed the idea from the game’s official blog.
For the uninitiated, Life is Strange follows the story of Maxine Caulfield. At the beginning of the story, she was seen moving back to her hometown Arcadia Bay. On her return, she discovered that she possesses the power to manipulate time.
She then uses this power to help her people. Not only that, she also managed to stop the destruction of her hometown from on oncoming tornado as well as finding a girl who disappeared for no reason.
The game was originally released, along with the first episode, on January 30, 2015. A few months after that, the game’s second episode was released. The third and fourth episodes were released in May and July of the same year. Finally, the conclusion of the story was released on October 20, 2015. Almost a year after the release of the first episode, the developer then released the disk version of the game.
As mentioned, the game will not make it to this year’s E3 event. However, there is a strong chance that initial details for the game may be revealed sometime in August. For those who are unaware, the first game was revealed during the Gamescom event, which is held in August of every year.
