When GTA V was released on PS3 and Xbox 360, it broke all the previous records and was one of the toppers. However, all those who bought the last-gen versions were kind of disappointed because Rockstar stopped bringing in the new content.
This was a decision that should have been made according to the limitations on the Last-gen consoles. But Rockstar took the advantage here. As some players suggest, the decision to end the new content for Xbox 360 and PS3 was made to make the players buy the game again for the next-gen consoles such as Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The Multiple Releases Treatment for Red Dead Redemption 2
If we compare Last-gen version of the game with the current-gen, we’ll see a huge difference between the two. This difference, however, isn’t what could make the fans from picking apart the studio. Therefore, the question arises of why Rockstar decided not to release the game on all platforms altogether after delaying it for at least a year.
One possible cause of the delays and the decision to not release the game on multiple platforms altogether could be the Cash-grab routine for Rockstar. We all know that GTA V was a massive title that helped Rockstar made a massive profit of about $31.8 Million in the month of January 2015 alone. Now PlayStation 4 is already out and Xbox Scorpio is about to release. So, the question arises again about the release pattern for the Red Dead Redemption. Will the Rockstar follow a similar pattern for the RDR2 releases over multiple platforms as the GTA V? Well, we can’t have answers right now and there is a complete silence from Rockstar about that at the moment.
As most of the rumors suggest, Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release sometime in October 2017. On the other hand, Xbox Scorpio is going to launch in the Holiday season 2017, Microsoft has confirmed it.
One this is obvious, Red Dead Redemption 2 will definitely have some exclusive features on Xbox Scorpio. It might be possible that the game will be extending beyond the visual fields. We witnessed it in the case of Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Players would love to see Red Dead Redemption release on the new Xbox Scorpio as one of the launch titles. If it happens, XboxScorpio and PC players will be seeing some enhanced features and new content in a year’s time. This is something that will never happen for Xbox One and PS4 consoles and players.
Anything related to what pattern release and re-release will the game follow is quite hard to predict at this time. It’ll all clear up with the game release on the consoles. Until then, we all will have to wait and see.
