HMD Global is getting confident day by day. After successfully re-introducing the most beloved mobile brand “Nokia” in China, it is gearing up to taste the international waters. The company has laid out the plans for launching new Nokia Android offerings in several countries, which includes Europe and other parts of the world. And before you ask, Yes, the Nokia smartphones are coming to India soon.
While speaking to The Times of India, Ajey Mehta, the President of HMD Mobile India, revealed the tentative release date for company’s Nokia phones. He said, the smartphones will come to Indian shores by end of second quarter, which means you can have your hands on a Nokia Android device before the end of June.
Specs details of the latest Nokia offerings
Nokia 3: First up, the Nokia 3 is a 5-Inch HD display smartphone powered by Mediatek MT6737 processor and 2 Gigs of RAM. Internal storage of the Nokia 3 stands at 16 GB with expandable capabilities of up to 128 GB via microSD card. On the camera front, you will find two 8 MP shooters, one on the front and one on the back. The device will run Android 7.0 Nougat with 2650 mAh battery. It will be priced at €139 (around $147/Rs 9824).
Nokia 5: The second on the ladder is Nokia with a 5.2-inch IPS LCD screen. It is powered by a more capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC. Just like the Nokia 3, this one too will feature 2 Gigs of RAM and 16 GB internal storage. It will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. As for the camera, there is a 13 MP shooter on the rear, along with an 8 MP lens on the front for selfies. Nokia 5 will carry a price tag of €189 (around $200/Rs 13,357).
Nokia 6: Priced at €229 (around $243/Rs 16,183), Nokia 6 is the first smartphone to launch under the new owner HMD Global. It features a bigger and better display of 5.5-Inch with Full HD resolution. The smartphone houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset and will come in two RAM/Storage variants of 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. Camera department of Nokia 6 comprises of 16 MP rear and 8 MP front shooters. Nokia 6 has garnered rave reviews from the Chinese customers and media, hence, it will be the most sorted Nokia smartphone upon launch in India.
