We already have had a pretty good look at the AMD Ryzen 7 lineup of processors released over a month ago. While those chips do, in fact, provide an amazing performance-per-dollar compared to their Intel counterparts, the Ryzen 7 CPUs seem to be lacking the meat when it comes to satiating the seemingly never-ending appetite of the enthusiast gamers community. The forthcoming mainstream Ryzen series, dubbed the Ryzen 5, will reportedly make an attempt to distant itself from such shortcomings. Such speculations have been further strengthened by a recent leak that allows us a sneak peek into the AMD Ryzen 5 1400 chip’s performance numbers.

The Ryzen 5 have been reportedly already available at select few retailers even before their official launch. Now, it seems like someone who was able lay their hands on the Ryzen 5 1400 performed a benchmark on the CPU and shared the findings via a new video (posted below).

AMD Ryzen 5 1400 benchmarks leaked

As you will see in the video below, the Ryzen 5 1400’s performance has been compared to that of the Intel Core i5 7400 and Pentium G4560. While the AMD chip and its Intel rival has the same number of cores, the former has more threads (eight against the Core i5 7400’s four).

Meanwhile, not that the Pentium G4560 is actually a pretty cheap dual core Kaby Lake CPU and was included in the benchmark comparison just for fun (if anything, it will provide you with some idea what this particular Pentium chip is capable of).

Check out the benchmark comparison in the video below:
