We know that the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program is an overall Exclusive to the Microsoft and it has helped its boost 2017 games list. However, all the games released are not the new ones but they have buzzed the global PS4 gaming circles.

The fans are demanding more and more to make Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 a part of the Backwards Compatibility games list as this major Xbox 360 title is missing from it. Although, there is no solid proof on when and how Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is going to be part of that list on Xbox One, but we have a calming update.

According to Bill Stillwell who is part of the Xbox talked about the hundreds of tweets from the fans Black Ops 2. He further said that “Lately, there has been another surge in the ‘We Want BO2!!!’ Tweets.” With lots of continued angst and concern over why there is no answer. Combined with the lull in releases for BC overall, I wanted to give more context directly, hence this ‘Wordy’ reply.”

Stillwell also said that

First, it is important to remember that BC releases have always ebbed and flowed. Just like the industry, some months are loaded, and others are pretty light. We are still 100% committed to the program. I expect big releases in the near future. But unlike the holiday season, big bi-weekly releases of titles are unlikely to happen each and every month.

Yes, I know the upcoming titles, what issues we have with each one (technical or not), and the runway before they launch. I’m still very confident in this year’s plan, and that we’ll see happy customers in the future. Beyond that, it is not my place to communicate those plans. Especially when it involves someone else’s IP.

Releasing a big/popular game, even as a re-release into the BC program, is a heavily orchestrated event. Publishers often have target dates that coincide with other initiatives, such as sales, or related titles, and they want to maximize the release.

We also have long-term business relationships and want them to continue to deliver great news games to the console for many years. It makes no sense to jeopardize that business relationship for a short-term boost.

Additionally, I can’t understate the complexity of the non-technical part of this. We are in some cases reviewing licensing agreements that are a decade old, evaluating the impact of new technology on those agreements, and then negotiating with a host of other parties for terms to get renewed/changed. This is not a quick process most times.

There has been a lot going on between the fans over the COD: BO2 appearance on PS4 games list. A continuous release of Xbox One Backwards Compatibility games, in fact, have sparked the release of older PS3 games on PS Now. The new games of all on PlayStation Now would probably be Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare. Both of these games were released in December last year.

Because of all that, the fans are hopeful that they’ll be able to see Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 releasing sometime in the near future.

The Backwards Compatibility releases have evidently has boosted up the game on Xbox One. So, it cannot be neglected at all that PlayStation and Activision are working very closely. This will definitely result in a boost in PlayStation Now streaming services.

However, it must also be noted that there is no word from Activision about the release of COD: Black Ops 2 on any of the consoles such as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One yet. This means that the fans will have to wait until there is anything else coming out about the release.

Overall, Xbox One Backwards Compatibility has four new titles added to the list. These games are released now and include titles such as Street Fighter IV, Madballs in Babo: Invasion, Luxor 2, and Poker Smash. Of all the four newly released titles, Street Fighter IV is the biggest one so far. With over 13000 fan votes, Street Fighter IV is nearing its official inclusion to the best titles. It takes up about 4GB of space in downloads.
