At GDC 2017 that concluded recently, Nvidia unveiled several new technologies, including Nvidia GameWorks, new Nvidia SHIELD TV, and some virtual reality demos. The conference also hosted talks about deep learning, the field of Artificial Intelligence that’s revolutionizing computer science. At the same event, Nvidia also announced significant GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 price cuts for some of the custom models.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 get price cut

Gaming enthusiasts have something to cheer about. As announced, Nvidia has started offering GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 with price cuts. The custom models of GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 that come pre-bundled with a GeForce game are now being sold at prices ranging from $499.99 to $599.99. The mid-range chips are now available in the price range $349.99 to $399.99. So basically, you get to purchase GeForce GTX 1080 for just $499.99 and GTX 1070 for just $349.99. The price cuts are now live. What’s even more attractive is the game bundle promotion being offering on every GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 you purchase. You now get a copy of either Ghost Recon: Wildlands or For Honor, adding about $60 to the value of these cards – a deal you wouldn’t want to miss.

The deals are live on Newegg and Amazon. Newegg is offering MSI GTX 1080 DUKE OC 8GB 1847 MHz Boost with GeForce game bundle for $499.99. For the same price, you can also purchase Gigabyte’s GTX 1080 Turbo OC 8GB 1797 MHz Boost with GeForce game bundle. Amazon is selling the ZOTAC GTX 1080 AMP Edition 8GB 1822 MHz Boost with GeForce game bundle for $549.99. Amazon is also offering Gigabyte GTX 1070 Windforce 8GB 1771 MHz Boost with GeForce game bundle for $369.99. For the same price, Gigabyte GTX 1070 Mini OC 8GB 1746 with GeForce game bundle is also available.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 – based on FinFET architecture – features 2560 CUDA cores and clocks at 2.1GHz with air cooling. It features 8GB GDDR5X memory across the 256-bit bus. Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 features 1920 CUDA cores with a base clock running at 1506MHz and boost clock at 1683MHz. It comes with 8GB GDDR5 memory across the 256-bit bus. The price cuts being offered by Nvidia will definitely increase the sales of both the high-end chips.
