After taken over by Lenovo, last quarter gave a huge success to Motorola with a sale of more than 10 million smartphones worldwide. The owner company believes that Motorola can return to its profit path in coming 4 to 6 quarters and needs to increase global presence. Earlier, when the company was owned by Google, its presence in global market was limited to 10 numbers only, while presently the company has expanded the business in 50 countries and expected to grow in 10-15 more markets this year.

Motorola is now working with a strategy and step forwarded to Chinese market introducing Moto X, Moto G and Moto X Pro. The Moto X is expected to get huge success in the China. Naturally, the company will face hard competition from Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi and other local companies.

However, Motorola COO Rick Osterloh looks much confident and believes that the company could be next largest player in the field. In a recent interview by Forbes, Rick Osterloh claims the strength of company in the fact that it offers “an alternative to other premium brands at a much better value.”

Rick Osterloh also quoted “Every seven years, the person who’s been on top of the market has gone away. We are going through one of those fascinating shifts where people are starting to realize that you don’t need to pay $600 for a top-tier phone to get a top-tier experience”

According to Forbes, Osterloh implied that, Samsung could be next in line of Nokia and Blackberry, those lost their top position in global market after huge success.
