With its feature-rich services and easy-to-use interface, Gmail has long maintained its hard-earned stature as one of the most popular email services out there. The popularity of the mobile application of Gmail is comparable to the desktop version itself — more so today as smartphone penetration increases rapidly across the world.

With such ever increasing popularity, Google is forced to regularly issue new updates to Gmail apps for mobile devices at frequent intervals. One such update was released today for the users of Android OS.

The APK (installation) file of newest version — Gmail app for Android version 7.1.1.144151060 — is 18.58MB in size and can be installed on handsets running Android 4.0 or higher.  To download, visit APK Police, select the latest version, and follow the simple on-screen instructions.

Note that during installation, you will probably be asked to enable the “Unknown Sources” option from your device’s Settings->Security. That’s normal, so don’t panic. You can restore the original settings after downloading the Gmail app.
